We traveled back home to Idaho with them in perfect condition, and we ate the shucked ones the next day. Doesn't matter, he did a great job of icing them and making sure they would keep for me.
He didn't seem really anxious to be there, so I think maybe the person who was supposed to be running the inside counter was late getting there and he was annoyed by that, but if not, he was just not personable. I looked at my phone and realized it was 8:58, so I walked around for a few minutes and took some pictures of the surrounding bay, which was gorgeous at that time of day! Finally at several minutes after 9, he unlocked the door, so I went in and bought a dozen medium oysters in the shell and a pint of shucked ones. He was kind of unfriendly, and said it would open at 9am. Their shop looks nice, has a great drain for their eves! The door was still locked, but a man was in the work area, so after waiting until I thought it was time, I went to ask if they were open. Went to their shop early morning to buy oysters.
